About Me

My life as an artist began in my childhood, growing up as an expatriate living in the heart of Austria. I learned early on to embrace multicultural and cosmopolitan influences from either side of the Atlantic, which shaped what would become a lifelong passion for art, illustration, and design.

My work draws on late 19th and early 20th century movements in fine art and illustration, in service of 21st century humanist philosophy. Often this means re-imagining classical themes from legend and myth via contemporary subject matter, usually in a narrative style. Many of my paintings are fables, featuring totemic animal archetypes and talismanic objects.

My formal training as an illustrator began with a Bachelor of the Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which I received in 2007. Since then, I have worked as a freelance artist, and exhibited my original paintings in galleries across the United States, Europe, and Australia.

In addition to painting, drawing, and sometimes sculpting original artwork, I have also worked since 2011 in custom jewelry design. As a designer, I have partnered with master bench jewelers to capture my clients’ unique visions for their engagement, wedding, and family jewelry.

Currently, I live near Seattle, WA, where I share a home with my spouse in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
